The highlight of this composition is perhaps its collection of fine botanical motifs. The piece is based on one of the first examples of porcelain to be brought back to Europe by the tireless explorer Marco Polo. Such oriental beauty became high society fashion in porcelain in the 17th and 18th centuries.
